Dr Deb Foskey is the ACT Greens Member for Molonglo. A passionate advocate of environmental and social justice issues, Deb was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the ACT in November 2004, and occupies a vital role as the only Greens member of the Assembly's Crossbench.

Born 12 November 1949 in rural Victoria, Deb has worked as a farmer, teacher, environmentalist and mum to her two daughters. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Political Science and Industrial Relations, a Master of Letters in Human Ecology, a Diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Arts.

Throughout her twenty years in Canberra, Deb has campaigned for environmental protection, for public participation in planning, for peace, and for women's rights. She has combined work and parenting with post-graduate studies to deepen her understanding of Canberra's urban development and the trends that shape local, national and global politics. As a teacher and parent, she is convinced that a strong public sector ensuring access to quality education, health and housing are the keys to social equity.

Deb has been involved in the ACT and Australian Greens since their inception in the early 1990s and has performed various functions in the party at local, national and global levels. Greens have been in the ACT Assembly since 1995. Dr Foskey is pleased to have the opportunity to continue the work they have done for environmental and social justice.
